posted on by Georgia Blair
The Japan Foundation Sydney is holding a Free Cinema Week in April and will screen Porco Rosso, Only Yesterday and Ocean Waves: I Can Hear the Sea

The Japan Foundation Sydney has announced it will hold Free Cinema Weeks, showing screenings of various Japanese films for free during this year's Australian school holidays.

Its first event, to be held from April 16 to April 20, will feature three Studio Ghibli films--Isao Takahata's Only Yesterday, Hayao Miyazaki's Porco Rosso and the 1993 television special Ocean Waves: I Can Hear the Sea (Umi ga Kikoeru). All three films will be screened at 2PM on their respective days at The Japan Foundation.

More information and details on booking is available on the event's website.

EDIT: Ocean Waves was originally described as not released in Australia, but is licensed and distributed by Madman Entertainment. Thanks to errinundra for the correction.
