Spinoff OVA's additional cast & characters also listed

BIGLOBE's Anime One portal site began streaming a 53-second promotional video for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled anime project on Monday. The website is also streaming the project's previous promotional video that debuted in January. The spinoff anime's first installment will open in theaters in Japan on August 4.

The project's official website also listed additional characters and cast members on Monday. Satoshi Hino (Naruto Shippūden, Yurumates) will play the opposition group leader Ryo, while Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Bodacious Space Pirates, Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne) and Yōko Hikasa (Daily Lives of High School Boys, Infinite Stratos) will voice Ryo's group members Yukiya and Ayano, respectively.

The new characters are:

Klaus, Reila's lieutenant in the E.U. military's special forces unit "W-0"
Sophie, a civilian brain science expert who was scouted to work with the group
Joe, Sophie's assistant researcher who loves sweets
Anna, Reila's childhood friend and a genius scientist who developed "Alexander"
Shin, a Britannian and member of the Knights of St. Michael
Jean, a Britannian knight who works with Shin

Miyu Irino will star as the W-0 pilot Akito, and Maaya Sakamoto will play Reila, a former noblewoman of Britannia and a W-0 unit commander. Director Kazuki Akane (Escaflowne, Noein - to your other self, Birdy the Mighty: Decode) will write the OVA's scripts with Miya Asakawa (Turn A Gundam, Birdy the Mighty: Decode). Shigeru Morita (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, Blood+), who was in charge of special settings in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, will collaborate on series composition.

As in the previous two television series, Takahiro Kimura is adapting Clamp's original character designs for animation. Akira Yasuda is also returning to design the mechanical Nightmare units. The anime studio Sunrise , the previous Code Geass director Goro Taniguchi , and the previous series script supervisor Ichiro Okouchi are credited with the original story.

Singer Ichiko Hashimoto had posted in March that the project will be composed of four 50-minute episodes, with an episode screened in theaters and released on home video every three months. However, this information has since been edited out of Hashimoto's post.
