Miike's Ai & Makoto Film Previewed in 2 More Videos

Makoto's singing & cast from Takashi Miike's For Love's Sake film based on Ikki Kajiwara's manga

In addition to Monday's four-minute "Ai's Song-and-Dance Scene" video, the Japanese website Cinema Today posted another video of Makoto's singing (while getting ready to brawl) from Takashi Miike's Ai to Makoto (Ai and Makoto) film last week:

Yahoo! Japan's movie website posted still another two-minute special video of the film's secondary characters.

Emi Takei (live-action Rurouni Kenshin) plays an angelic high school girl named Ai Saotome, and Satoshi Tsumabuki (live-action Dororo, Dragon Head, Ikebukuro West Gate Park) plays the "ultra" high school delinquent Makoto Taiga.

Ikki Kajiwara (Ashita no Joe, Kyojin no Hoshi, Tiger Mask) wrote the original romance manga with illustrations by Takumi Nagayasu (Mibu Gishiden, The Legend of Mother Sarah) for Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1973 to 1976. The manga already inspired a live-action television adaptation in 1974 as well as three live-action films in 1974, 1975 and 1976. Takayuki Takuma (live-action Hana Yori Dango) scripted the new film, and Takeshi Kobayashi (Halfway, Bandage) composed the soundtrack.

Ai to Makoto will open in theaters across Japan on Saturday, after playing at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival in France under the title For Love's Sake.
