Michiyuki Honma Replaces Yuji Nunokawa as Pierrot President

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Yūji Nunokawa (pictured right), the founder of the anime studio Pierrot, stepped aside as the company's president last month, and Michiyuki Honma became the studio's new president. Nunokawa retains his representative director post, but he has been elevated to chairperson of the board.

Nunokawa founded Pierrot in 1979. Since then, the studio worked on a large number of works including The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, Urusei Yatsura, Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, and Naruto. Nunokawa will maintain his position as president of The Association of Japanese Animations, an industry group.

Honma worked in project planning and production, and he served as the head of operations at Pierrot. He has been involved in Bleach the Movie: Memories of Nobody, Emma: A Victorian Romance, the Naruto Shippūden film, and many other projects.
