Warner Sues Alleged Counterfeit Resellers on Amazon Marketplace

Warner Bros. filed at least 16 separate lawsuits in California against resellers on Amazon's Marketplace. The e-vendor platform allows independent retailers to sell items. The lawsuit describes the items being sold as "counterfeit." Titles named in the suits include the Harry Potter films, Game of Thrones, The Wire and The Sopranos television series.
Amazon is not named as a defendant in this case. Amazon's main corporate website once offered a bootleg DVD box set of the Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon Sailor Stars television series in 2007, until it removed the listing after considerable feedback.
