Weekend Wrapup: 19/Aug - 25/Aug

posted on by Jon Hayward
This week is a little quieter with plenty of new anime being announced for Australian shores and just a little bit of gundam;

Toyota unveiled their collaboration and Char Anzable, the antagonist of Mobile Suit Gundam, on Saturday at Japan's Chara-Hobby 2012 event. The project was indeed a specialised custom Toyota Auris in Char's signature matte red. The Auris (known as the Corolla in Australia) was modified by Toyota Modellista International and has a range of homages including customised antenna, light up Zeon badges and original bodywork wrapping.

Speaking of Gundam. It's creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino, was recently interviewed and revealed that his G-Reko project was entering into production as the scenario work was complete. Tomino also stated that while he would like to draw the storyboards for the new series, doing so may be impossible.

At Manifest 2012, Madman Entertainment announced a massive nine new titles including Inuyashi: The Final Act, Michiko to Hatchin and Eureka Seven:AO.

Fuji TV's Noitamina block has started streaming a promotional video for Psycho-Pass. The video confirms that the original character designs are being handled by Akira Amano (Reborn!).

Siren Visual went on a announcement spree through facebook, with forthcoming new releases Intrigue in the Bakumatsu - Irohanihoheto, Mawaru Penguindrum and The Book of Bantorra.

And finally, the official you-tube channel for upcoming live-action Rurouni Kenshin has added outtake reels as television ads promoting Lotte's Fit's Link and Fruitio chewing gum.
