New Seitokai no Ichizon Anime's Advance Promo Streamed

Anime of Sekina Aoi's light novels with revised cast, staff debuts on October 13

The Japanese production company Kadokawa began streaming an advance promotional video for the upcoming new anime adaptation of Sekina Aoi's Seitokai no Ichizon (Student Council's Discretion) light novel series. The video features the "Precious" opening theme song by the anime's new cast.

The comedy revolves around Ken Sugisaki, a boy who becomes part of the student council of his private high school. He is the only boy on the council, where he is surrounded by cute girls.

In the new anime, voice actress Mina (Heaven's Lost Property's Sohara Mitsuki, Is This a Zombie?'s Kanami Mihara) replaces Yuka Saitou as the voice actress of the character Chizuru Akaba. Similarly, Iori Nomizu (Heaven's Lost Property's Nymph, Cat Planet Cuties' Antonia) replaces Yuki Horinaka, who originally played Mafuyu Shiina.

In addition, Masahito Onoda has replaced Kumi Horii as the character designer on the new series. AIC is producing the new series instead of Studio DEEN, and Kenichi Imaizumi is directing the series with series script editor Reiko Yoshida, instead of Takuya Satō and Jukki Hanada for the same roles in the 2009 anime version.

The final title for the series has yet to be determined; a contest to name the anime was announced this July. The final title will be revealed in the premiere episode of the anime itself.

The series will premiere on the streaming website niconico (formerly Nico Nico Douga) on October 13 at 11:30 p.m. in Japan (10:30 a.m. EDT), and it will run every Saturday. The media-distribution website Crunchyroll streamed the first anime series outside Japan in 2010.

Update: More background information added.
