Zetsuen no Tempest TV Anime's 3rd Promo Streamed

posted on by Egan Loo
Kana Hanazawa confirmed as Aika's voice; 3rd key visual art presented

The official website for the Zetsuen no Tempest television anime series began streaming the third promotional video on Saturday. The anime will premiere on October 4.

The website also updated the top page with the third piece of key visual art by character designer Tsunenori Saito. The character section now has designs for Natsumura Kusaribe, and the staff/cast section confirms that Kana Hanazawa is voicing the character AIKa Fuwa (in addition to singing the ending theme song "happy endings").

The anime adapts Kyou Shirodaira, Arihide Sano, and Ren Saizaki's fantasy mystery manga. The story centers around Yoshino Takigawa (played by Kōki Uchiyama), an ordinary high school student with a mysterious friend named Mahiro Fuwa (Toshiyuki Toyonaga). Mahiro made a deal with a witch named Hakaze to hunt down the killers of his parents and sister. Now Mahiro is missing, and Hakaze confronts Yoshino. Yoshino find himself involved in a crisis that may doom the entire world.

Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger, Hana-Saku Iroha) is directing the series at the anime studio BONES. Mari Okada (Black Butler, anohana, Hana-Saku Iroha) is serving as the head writer.

The manga has been running in Monthly Shonen Gangan since 2009, and Square Enix is publishing the seventh compiled book volume this month.

Update: The staff is holding a quiz giveaway campaign between September 15 and November 15, with the top prize being a trip for two to Easter Island. The other prizes include three scripts signed by the staff and cast, five B2-sized tapestries signed by the cast, and 10 replica sketches signed by Kyou Shirodaira and Ren Saizaki. All who participate can receive PC and mobile phone wallpaper.
