Aniplex Co-Head/A-1 Pictures Executive Hideo Katsumata Steps Down

Sony Music Entertainment (SME) announced on Friday that Aniplex Representative Director Hideo Katsumata would step down from his position on Sunday. Aniplex is a subsidiary of SME that deals with anime and anime music. Katsumata also stepped down as a corporate director of A-1 Pictures, Aniplex's own anime studio subsidiary.
Katsumata and Kouichirou Natsume shared the role of representative director of Aniplex since June of 2010. SME has not announced any changes in Natsume's position.
Katsumata has been the planner, producer, or executive producer on dozens of titles, including Fullmetal Alchemist, Blood+, Birdy the Mighty: Decode, Kannagi, Fairy Tail, Shiki, Star Driver, Wandering Son, Natsume's Book of Friends, Guilty Crown, and Natsu-iro Kiseki.
