Singer/Songwriter YUI to Take Temporary Hiatus

Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood theme song performer to try her hand at new opportunity

Singer/songwriter YUI (Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) posted a handwritten "Message From YUI" on her official homepage that informed fans of her upcoming hiatus from music on Monday. She explained in the message that she wanted to try something new right now. She knew that many people might worry about her because of this decision, but she assured the fans that she made this decision in a positive light. She wrote:

The form of my work may change, but I want to enjoy a lot of things through the music that is precious to me. I hope that you will continue following me in the future.

She also added that she will keep writing updates in her online diary.

YUI has been performing music for eight years, and previously took a short hiatus from music from the end of 2008 to the middle of 2009. She performed the fifth ending theme for the Bleach anime, "Life," and the first opening theme for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, "again." Her newest “YUI Best Albums," titled Green Garden Pop and Orange Garden Pop, will be released in Japan on December 5.
