Grave of the Fireflies' 25th Anniversary Theatrical Release Planned in U.S.

The distribution company GKIDS announced on Tuesday that it has acquired the North American theatrical rights to Isao Takahata and Studio Ghibli's Grave of the Fireflies film from Toho Co., LTD.
GKIDS is planning a 25th anniversary theatrical release in the United States. The film will also be added to GKIDS current Studio Ghibli retrospective that is touring the country.
Sentai Filmworks is re-releasing the film in North America, and the company released the film for the first time on Blu-ray Disc in North America on Tuesday. Both Central Park Media and ADV Films have previously released this acclaimed adaptation of Akiyuki Nosaka's wartime novel in North America.
