Manga Duo Naked Ape to Resume Detective Series 'Switch'

posted on by Egan Loo
Drug investigators Hal & Kai return a little older in gritty action manga

Otoh Saki, one half of the manga writer/artist duo naked ape, announced on Saturday that the duo's detective manga Switch will resume in the March issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine on January 28. Saki added that the main characters Hal and Kai have aged a little, but Saki and her artist partner Tomomi Nakamura are truly bringing them back.

The gritty action manga focuses on two young government investigators of drug trafficking in Japan. Viz Media published the 12 volumes of the manga's original 2002-2008 run. The story inspired a two-episode video anime series in 2008 and 2009.

The manga duo had just ended their Dolls manga in the same Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine on September 28. Kisshō7 -seven-, Saki's collaboration with Ai Tenkawa (Wolf God), is still running in the magazine. Saki and Nakamura are also still serializing Magnolia in Kodansha's Aria magazine.

Starting next January, Ichijinsha is republishing Switch's original 2002-2008 run in a new edition with seven monthly volumes. The 12th and final volume of Dolls and the fifth volume of Magnolia shipped in Japan on Saturday.
