Udon Licenses Summer Wars & Takehito Harada Art Books

North American publisher Udon Entertainment confirmed with ANN that it will release the Summer Wars: Material Book and the Takehito Harada Art Works book this spring. Summer Wars: Material Book (Summer Wars: Kanzen Settei Shiryō-Shū) will arrive on May 7, while Takehito Harada Art Works (Harada Takehito O-Shigoto Note) will arrive on April 9.
Udon Entertainment describes the two 208-page books:
Directed by Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), and brought to life by renowned animation studio MADHOUSE, Summer Wars is the story of an ordinary family going to extraordinary lengths to avert the impending cyber apocalypse! The Summer Wars: Material Book gives a detailed, behind-the-scenes look at the development artwork that went into this award-winning film. Inside you'll find character profiles, background designs, rough sketches, and an exclusive interview with the film's director.
Featuring the works of video game artist extraordinaire Takehito Harada, lead character designer of the hit Disgaea RPG series! Takehito Harada Art Works covers the artist's work on all four Disgaea titles, as well as Prinny 1 & 2, Makai Kingdom, and Phantom Brave. Inside you'll find game covers, rare promotional art, rough layouts, creator commentary, and a detailed look at Takehito Harada's creative process.
Udon also noted that the current release date for The Eyes of Bayonetta: Art Book & DVD is to be determined.
Update: Udon also confirmed that the Atelier Artworks of Arland book will ship this May, while Midori Foo's Book of Pictures will ship in April. Brutal Legend: The Art of Brutal Legend, Growlanser: Artworks, and Valkyria Chronicles 3: Complete Artworks will arrive next month.
