Recorder & Randsell, Shiba Inuko-san Creators Launch New Manga

Miyu Nohiro, Ari Yunohara, Seitarō Mukai also debut manga in Manga Town magazine

Manga creators Meme Higashiya (Recorder and Randsell) and Uzu (Shiba Inuko-san) both launched new series in the February issue of Futabasha's Manga Town magazine on Saturday.

Higashiya's new Oshikake-ji Hime story (pictured in the lower left corner of the magazine's cover image) follows a princess from Japan's Sengoku (Warring States) era who time-travels into the future and begins living with a high school boy.

Higashiya's four-panel comedy series Recorder and Randsell is currently running in Takeshobo's Manga Life Original magazine. The manga inspired two television anime adaptations, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as they aired. The manga's fourth volume also bundled an original anime DVD. JManga is releasing the series in English.

Uzu's Kigurumekurumi! (pictured in the center of the magazine cover) revolves around a shy female high school student who finds that she is able to enjoy communicating with others when she is wearing a mascot character costume. Uzu's Shiba Inuko-san manga also inspired a television anime adaptation last year. JManga is releasing that series in English as well.

The February issue of Manga Town also launched Miyu Nohiro's Taishō Otome Karute manga (lower right corner of magazine cover) about a woman aiming to become a doctor in Japan's Taishō era (1912-1926).

The March issue of Manga Town will launch the Tenshin Ran Man! collaborative manga series between voice actress and singer Ari Yunohara (Blessing of the Campanella's Salsa Tortilla) and comedian Seitarō Mukai (Ai Mai Mi's Narrator) of the comedy duo Tenshin. Mukai is credited with the original concept and Yunohara will draw the series.
