Blu-ray Discs/DVDs to ship this spring with TV anime shorts, OVAs, drama CDs

This spring, Bandai Visual will ship the Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes for the Senyū fantasy battle comedy anime with two original video anime (OVA) episodes.

The first volume will ship on April 24 with the first six shorts from the television adapatation of Robinson Haruhara's manga. It will also have the brand-new OVA episode "1.1" with the "Yūsha, Nagurareru" (Hero, Beaten) and "Nise-Panda no Seitai" (The Habits of Fake Panda) stories. The extras include a ticket application form for an August 31 event at Tokyo's Nippon Seinenkan hall (only in the first copies of the volume), an exclusive sound drama CD, an eight-page booklet, and audio commentaries.

The second volume will arrive on May 28 with television episodes 7-13, the brand-new OVA "Shitsuji-chō no Tabi Sono 1" (The Head Steward's Journey I), a collection of promotional videos, another exclusive sound drama CD, an eight-page booklet, and audio comentaries. The Blu-ray version of both volumes will add a feature that lets viewers watch the episodes with Niconico's signature scrolling comments.

In the story, a gigantic hole suddenly opened up in the world one day, and demons appeared. The king thinks that this portends the return of Satan Rchimedes, who was sealed away by the hero Creation a millenium ago. The king decreed that the descendants of the hero must take on the threat, and 75 people showed up. Hero No. 45 (Alba, played by Hiro Shimono) and a sadistic palace warrior (Ross, played by Yūichi Nakamura) team up, and their adventure begins.

Yutaka Yamamoto (Kannagi, Fractale, episodes of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star) is directing the series at his Ordet studio and LIDEN FILMS. Michiko Yokote (Genshiken, Squid Girl, xxxHOLiC) is in charge of the series scripts, and Ushio Tazawa (The Place Promised in Our Early Days, The Telepathy Girl Ran) is designing the characters.

The television anime premiered on January 8, and Crunchyroll is streaming the anime into several countries as it airs in Japan.
