Full-color version of Saiyan Arc of Akira Toriyama's manga premieres simultaneously with Japan

North American publisher Viz Media announced in Monday's issue of its Weekly Shonen Jump digital anthology that it will be adding the full-color version of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga with the magazine's next issue. The magazine will start with chapter 195, which marks the beginning of the Dragon Ball Z manga and the start of the Saiyan Arc.

Shueisha will premiere the full-color version of Toriyama's manga in Japan on February 4. The color edition will be released in three volumes spanning the Saiyan Arc. Shueisha will release all three volumes on the same day.

Viz Media released Toriyama's one-shot "Kintoki" manga in Monday's issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.

The publisher re-launched its Weekly Shonen Jump Alpha magazine as Weekly Shonen Jump with its January 21 issue. The issue marks the move to a simultaneous model with its Japanese counterpart.

Update: Viz Media added on Monday that the full-color Dragon Ball manga will not be the last manga it adds to the Weekly Shonen Jump lineup.
