Tanken Driland - 1000-nen no Mahō -'s Cast, Story Revealed

Digimon's Mayumi Yamaguchi plays main character Hagan in second series based off of Gree's mobile card game

Mobile game developer Gree and animation production company Toei Animation revealed the story, cast, and musical staff for the upcoming Tanken Driland - 1000-nen no Mahō - anime at a press conference at the Tokyo Anime Fair (TAF) on Thursday. Attending the event were the two main voice actresses of the series, Mayumi Yamaguchi (Galaxy Angel, Digimon Adventure) and Motoko Kumai (Cardcaptor Sakura, Allison & Lillia) and the show's mascot Kinopio the mushroom.

The cast is as follows:

Kenji Nojima and Motoko Kumai are already cast in the show's first season Driland as different characters, while Yōko Hikasa and Kōki Uchiyama will be reprising their roles as Haruka and Pahn respectively.

Staff also announced that singer Hideyuki Takahashi would be performing the anime's “Go ahead!” opening theme song, while idol group PASSPO will be performing the ending theme, “STEP&GO”. Hideyuki Takahashi attended the event, and sang the “Go ahead!” for the audience.

The official pamphlet for the press desribes the story as so:

This story takes place 1000 years after the previous work. Due to a certain incident, all the hunters in the world were sealed inside of cards. The protagonist Hagan becomes to key to freeing them, and travels as he gathers cards and fights along his friends as they mature.

The anime will begin airing in Japan on April 6.
