Fairy Tail Poolside Anime DVD's Promo Streamed

On Wednesday, Kodansha began streaming a promotional video for the original anime DVD (OAD) bundled with the 38th volume of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail fantasy adventure manga. The brand-new fifth OAD animates the manga's 298th chapter, "Dokidoki Ryūzetsu Land," and Mashima teases that it will be "sexier than the regular anime." The story is set during the third night of the Grand Magic Games, when various guilds gather at the Ryūzetsu Land pool for some fun (and the chaos that ensues).
The television anime's cast return for this DVD along with director Shinji Ishihara, writer Masashi Sogo, character designer Aoi Yamamoto, and the animators at A-1 Pictures and Satelight. The bundle will ship on June 17 with a notebook and booklet.
Del Rey published 12 volumes of the original manga in North America, and Kodansha resumed publishing the manga with the 13th volume in 2011. The television anime just ended last month, and Crunchyroll streamed the television anime into several countries as it aired. Funimation has been releasing the DVD/Blu-ray sets.
