Teekyū Anime's Second Season's 1st Promo Streamed

Second season of tennis team comedy anime to premiere on July 7

Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star began streaming the first promotional video for the second season of the anime adaptation of Roots and Piyo's Teekyū manga on Friday. The video is narrated by the character Natsumi Takamiya, voiced by Kyōko Narumi.

All of the main cast will be returning for the second season, with Kana Hanazawa (Steins;Gate, Sketchbook ~full color'S~) as Marimo Bandō, Kyōko Narumi (Ketsuekigata-kun!, Amnesia) as Nasuno Takamiya, Suzuko Mimori (Love Live! School idol project, Btooom!) as Kanae Shinjō, and Yui Watanabe (30-sai no Hoken Taiiku, Penguindrum) as Yuri Oshimoto.

Piyo's original manga centers around a girls' tennis team. (The title is a wordplay on a Japanese term for tennis, teikyū.) However, the four high school girls on the team hardly play any actual tennis.

The anime will premiere on July 7.

Piyo launched the manga in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star magazine in early 2012, and the first anime season was announced just months later on the manga's first book volume. Earth Star Entertainment claims that this is the fastest television anime adaptation ever. The fourth volume of the manga will be released on June 12. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan.
