Waiting in the Summer Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
Also, single box-set edition of Shiki and third season box-set of Naruto Shippūden.

On Monday June 3, MVM will release the series Waiting in the Summer (pictured right). The 2012 series is a high school comedy series following a group of students creating a film during summer break. MVM summarises the series as follows:

When a group of friends decide to make a movie over a long summer holiday, they end up learning a little about filmmaking and a lot more about each other and themselves. What begins as a simple way to avoid the summer doldrums quickly turns into something much more complex, intimate, and downright revealing. As the summer heats up, so do the maturing relationships between the young cast members, taking some new, and sometimes unexpected, turns.

Produced by J.C. Staff, the anime reunites story creator Yousuke Kuroda and original character designer Taraku Uon, who previously collaborated on Onegai Teacher and Onegai Twins, and director Tatsuyuki Nagai and character designer Masayoshi Tanaka, who worked on anohana and Toradora!

Manga Entertainment is releasing a complete box-set of Shiki (pictured left), previously released in two volumes. The story is set in a remote Japanese country town that is swept by a terrifying epidemic of deaths, while a mysterious family moves into a nearby castle. A large cast of characters responds to the crisis in very different ways. Shiki originated as a series of horror novels written by Fuyumi Ono (Twelve Kingdoms, Ghost Hunt). It was adapted into a TV anime for Fuji TV's prominent Noitamina late-night content block.

Manga Entertainment is also releasing a box-set edition of Naruto Shippūden Series 3 (pictured right), carrying episodes 101 to 153 of the series.
