One Piece Manga Takes 1-Week Hiatus

This year's 29th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Eiichiro Oda's One Piece manga will not run in the next issue. The manga will return in this year's 31st issue. In the author's note section of the 29th issue, Oda said that he is drawing the manga at a more measured pace while he works towards a full recovery, out of his editors' concerns.
The manga did not run in the magazine on May 27 and June 3 since Oda was hospitalized for a peritonsillar abscess, a complication due to an infection frequently caused by tonsillitis.
