Maken-Ki's Tropical Island Anime Blu-ray Promo Streamed

Takeru turns into a girl, others strip to their underwear in September 30 Blu-ray

Kadokawa began streaming a promotional video for Takeru Nyotaika!? Minami no Shima de Supo~n♥ (Takeru Turns Into a Woman!? Getting Naked on a Tropical Island), the original anime Blu-ray Disc bundled with the 11th limited-edition volume of Hiromitsu Takeda's Maken-Ki! action romantic comedy manga, on Friday.

The story of the original anime Blu-ray Disc begins at a summer over-night trip with Takeru and all of the girls. Due to a special Dynamite Drink, the party changes into a girl's tournament to see who can confess their love. However, there's one catch: All of the girls are stripped down to only their underwear. Adding to the craziness, Takeru is changed into a girl after taking an attack from Syria.

The 3,990-yen (about US$43) bundle will also have a variant cover for the manga volume, and the print run will be limited to the number of pre-orders received. The bundle will be released in Japan on September 30.

A new team of staff will be producing the anime, with Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata) directing the television anime at Xebec. Akio Takami (Shaman King) is designing the characters, and Yousuke Kuroda (first Maken-Ki! Battling Venus anime) is writing the scripts.

The manga already inspired a television anime series in 2011, as well as an earlier original anime DVD. Funimation licensed the television series for streaming and home entertainment releases in North America. Fujimi Shobo's Dragon Age magazine announced in September that a new anime adaptation titled Maken-Ki! Tsū is launching this winter.
