Yakuza Lead Voice Actor Takaya Kuroda Recovers From Surgery

Voice actor Takaya Kuroda reported on Wednesday that he underwent emergency surgery for appendicitis on Monday. He is now recovering in the hospital. He apologized for missing his work and vowed to return as soon as he can.
Kuroda actually began feeling pain in his abdomen on Saturday. However, he did not learn until he went to the hospital on Monday that his appendix was 10 times larger than normal. The doctors recommended immediate surgery since the inflamed appendix was in danger of rupturing.
Kurodaw is best known for voicing the main character Kazuma Kiryū in the popular Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) game franchise. His anime credits include Simon in Durarara!!, Vito in Ristorante Paradiso, General Danga in Ozma, Tadayoshi Tōyama in Rainbow - Nisha Rokubō no Shichinin, and Yagyuu Koshinori in Gintama' He is also known for his many roles in Japanese dubs of foreign films.
