Hoshi no Umi video anime recapped before tease of Fall anime with new & returning cast

The official website for Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~, the new Yozakura Quartet television anime series, began streaming its first promotional video on Friday. The video begins by recapping the story in Yozakura Quartet ~Hoshi no Umi~, the three-part 2010-2011 original video anime series based on Suzuhito Yasuda's supernatural action comedy manga.

The video then teases the new Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta television anime series which will premiere this October.

The new anime has the same cast as the earlier 2008 television anime series and the upcoming Yozakura Quartet: Tsuki ni Naku original video anime (OVA) series, plus a new addition:

  • Misato Fukuen as Hime Yarizakura
  • Yuuki Kaji as Akina Hiizumi
  • Saki Fujita as Ao Nanami
  • Miyuki Sawashiro as Kotoha Isone
  • Daisuke Ono as Kyōsuke Kishi
  • Haruka Tomatsu as Tōka Kishi
  • Ai Matayoshi as Rin Azuma
  • Natsuko Kuwatani as Yae Shinatsuhiko
  • Sachi Matsumoto as Yūhi Shinatsuhiko
  • Rie Tanaka as Mariabelle
  • Aiko Ōkubo as V Juri F
  • Tomokazu Seki as Gin Nanami
  • Yasuyuki Kase as Shidō Mizuki
  • Ayahi Takagaki as Mina Tatebayashi
  • Yuka Inokuchi as Kana Tatebayashi
  • Kaoru Mizuhara as Zakuro Kurumaki
  • Ai Kayano as V Lila F

Misato Fukuen (Rosario + Vampire, Durarara!) as Hime Yarizakura, the 16-year old mayor of Sakurashin Town. She has good intentions, but sometimes ends up working too hard, causing others to worry for her safety. Her hobby is going on patrol around the town. She is known to eat a lot.

Yuuki Kaji (Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan) as Akina Hiizumi, the 18-year old "tuner" of Shinmachi Town and the close childhood friend of Hime. The director of the Hiizumi Life Counseling Office, he solves problems for the people of the town by using his "tuning" ability — by sending demons who cause problems back to their own world. He usually takes care of the people around him, but especially Hime.

Saki Fujita (Working!!, Durarara!) as Ao Nanami, a 15-year old girl who is a Satori, and can read people's thoughts with the power of her "satellite." She can also convey her own thoughts to others. Her favorite foods are sweets. She had to separate with her beloved brother a while ago due to certain circumstances.

Miyuki Sawashiro (Galaxy Angel, K) as Kotoha Isone, a 16-year old half-demon who can use the ability "Kotodama," which lets her conjure any object she wishes by describing it with words. Her hobby is going on trips.

Daisuke Ono (Brave10, Brothers Conflict) as Kyōsuke Kishi, the 18-year old oni secretary to Hime. He often worries about his sister, causing his friends to sometimes to say he has a sister complex. He is usually serious and cool, but it is easy to get him riled up. His favorite food is gyūdon (beef-and-rice bowl).

Haruka Tomatsu (Zettai Karen Children, Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live) as Tōka Kishi, the 16-year old oni younger sister to Kyōsuke. She often injures herself due to her extreme amount of power, and her lack of ability to control that power. Her hobby is archery, although she is not currently doing it. She attends the same school as Hime.

Ai Matayoshi will play Rin Azuma, a 15-year old kyonshi (Chinese zombie) who works at the town's ramen shop. Although she could usually not move without the tag on her head due to her being undead, she is able to move normally without it due to a name tag made from the seven pillars.

Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta's staff is different from the 2008 anime series, but the same as Tsuki ni Naku. Ryo-timo is designing the characters and directing the anime at Tatsunoko Productions. Kiyotaka Suzuki is serving as assistant director while Manabu Ishikawa is in charge of the scripts.

Unison Square Garden is performing the opening theme song "Sakura no Ato (all quartets lead to this?", while phatmans after school is performing the ending theme. Hoshi no Umi just debuted on Blu-ray Disc on Friday, and a preview screening of the new television series' first episode will be held in Tokyo on September 28.
