Danganropa 1/2 Reload Game's Promo Streamed

posted on by Sarah Nelkin
PS Vita port of 1st 2 games to ship in Japan in October

Spike Chunsoft began streaming a promotional video on Wednesday for Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload, the PlayStation Vita port of its Danganronpa 1 & 2 mystery action games. The promo is narrated by Monokuma (played by Nobuyo Ōyama), a teddy bear and self-proclaimed "principal" in the video game, and shows gameplay footage from both Danganronpa 1 & 2.

The game will ship in Japan on October 10. The packaged retail version will cost 5,229 yen (about US$52), while the PS Store download version will cost 4,700 yen (about US$47).

The game will add new features, such as a "School Mode" in Danganronpa 1 (a renamed version of the "Island Mode" in Danganronpa 2). Those who pre-order the title will receive a CD with recordings of the "Danganradio: Kibō no Guest to Zetsubō no Okada" program, including unaired segments.

The original PSP game follows a group of high school students, each with a different exceptional talent, who are locked inside a school and told that the only way to escape is to kill another student without getting caught. After a murder, the remaining students must hold a trial with their lives on the line to find out who the killer is. The second game recreates the premise on a tropical resort island.

In an interview with Enterbrain's Famitsu, producer Yoshinori Terasawa said that he cannot talk about future developments in the game franchise after Danganronpa 1 & 2 Reload, but he said that there are actually still more in the works.

NIS America announced at Anime Expo earlier this month that it will be releasing the PlayStation Vita port of the first Danganronpa game in North America and Europe early next year under the name Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.

The television anime adaptation of the first game premiered earlier this month, and Funimation is streaming the series as it airs.
