posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Story about young man who lies to help others launched in 2009

The official website for Shogakukan's Club Sunday free web manga magazine has announced that Yuuki Iinuma's Itsuwaribito manga will end in its 222nd chapter, which is slated to go live on the website on August 20. The preview image for the last chapter (pictured at right) says, "The next chapter is finally the last chapter! Make sure you read the finale of this splendid story!"

Itsuwaribito follows Utsuho, who, because of a catastrophic incident when he was a child that resulted from him telling the truth, decides to live his life telling lies. Eventually, a monk inspires the trouble-making Utsuho to help people, so Utsuho decides to live his life using his lying ways to help others.

Iinuma launched the series in 2009 in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine, and the publisher has since moved the series to Club Sunday. Shogakukan will publish the 21st compiled volume in Japan in on August 16. Viz Media licensed the manga in North America, and the company is publishing the ninth compiled volume on Tuesday.
