Kill la Kill Anime's Full Main Cast Revealed

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Animedia magazine is revealing additional cast for Hiroyuki Imaishi and Trigger's battle action anime Kill la Kill on Tuesday. The series' television commercial already introduced Ami Koshimizu as Ryūko Matoi and Ryōka Yuzuki as Satsuki Kiryūin last week.

The rest of the main cast are:

Aya Suzaki as second-year student Mako Mankanshoku

Shinichirō Miki as mysterious young man Aikurō Mikisugi

Nobuyuki Hiyama as Exercise Club control committee chair Uzu Sanageyama

Hiroyuki Yoshino as Intelligence Strategy Club committee chair Hōka Inumuta

Tetsu Inada as Public Morals Club committee chair Ira Gamagōri

Mayumi Shintani as Culture Club control committee chair Nonon Jakuzure

Toshihiko Seki as Ryūko's talking sailor uniform Senketsu
The magazine also revealed that the anime is slated to premiere in Japan on October 3.

The anime's official website already added profiles for most of the above characters. The site also confirmed on Wednesday that the television series will receive a manga adaptation drawn by Ryou Akizuki (Asura Cryin', Uchuu no Stellvia).

The story is set on a high school that the student council president Satsuki Kiryūin rules by force. Wielding a giant Basami scissors sword, the wandering transfer student Ryūko Matoi brings about upheaval on the campus. Ryūko searches for the mysterious figure who caused her father's death, but confronting her are the student council's "four divine kings." Fortunately, Ryūko is aided by a talking sailor uniform who tells her, "Wear me. When I am worn by you, this power will become manifest."

The anime reunites several production staff members from Gurren Lagann: director Hiroyuki Imaishi, series script supervisor/writer Kazuki Nakashima, character designer Sushio (key animator/animation director on Gurren Lagann), and the animation Studio Trigger (co-founded by several former Gurren Lagann staffers).
