Both series to premiere on site this weekend

Media distribution service Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the television anime adaptation of AQUAPLUS' White Album 2 game and the third television anime series based on Roots and Piyo's Teekyū manga. Crunchyroll will stream White Album 2 starting on October 5 at 2:00 p.m. EDT for viewers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), Spain, Portugal, and France. Crunchyroll will stream the third season of Teekyū starting on October 6 at 10:30 a.m. EDT for viewers in North America, South America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden.

Masaomi Andō (Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse) is directing White Album 2 at anime studio Satelight (Macross Frontier, AKB0048, Bodacious Space Pirates). Fumiaki Maruto, the scenario writer for the original games, is supervising and writing the series scripts and Satoru Fujimoto (Senki Zesshō Symphogear G) is adapting Takeshi Nakamura's original character designs. Composer Naoya Shimokawa (To Heart, White Album, Tears to Tiara) is returning from the games to serve as the music producer for the anime.

Leaf, the adult game brand of AQUAPLUS, first released White Album 2 as two visual novel chapters for personal computers. The story centers around a college junior named Haruki Kitahara and his relationships with Setsuna Ogiso and Kazuki Touma in the light music club.

The anime will premiere in Japan on October 5.

Piyo's original Teekyū manga centers around a girls' tennis team. (The title is a wordplay on a Japanese term for tennis, teikyū.) However, the four high school girls on the team hardly play any actual tennis. The tennis manga has already received two anime adaptations. Crunchyroll streamed the second season as it aired earlier this year.

Piyo launched the manga in Earth Star Entertainment's Comic Earth Star magazine in early 2012, and the first anime season was announced just months later on the manga's first book volume. Earth Star Entertainment claims that this is the fastest television anime adaptation ever.
