Ontario's Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema will screen the Evangelion 3.0, 009 Re:Cyborg, and three Berserk films. The festival will be held at the Chrysalids Theatre from November 14-17.

Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo is the third part of Hideaki Anno's theatrical reimagining of Gainax's 1995 television anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The film premiered in Japan in November 2012, and Funimation is releasing the film on home video in North America. The festival will host a screening of the film on November 16 at 8:30 p.m.

The festival will screen the entire Berserk “Golden Age Arc” film trilogy in one night. The three films that make up the Golden Age Arc are: Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey, and Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent. The Berserk films are an adaptation of Kentarō Miura's dark fantasy manga about a lone swordsman and band of mercenaries he soon meets. Viz Media is releasing the films on home video in North America. Waterloo will host the screening on November 15 starting at 9:00 p.m.

The 009 Re:Cyborg film is based on Shōtarō Ishinomori's classic science fiction manga. Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Blood: The Last Vampire, Attack on Titan) produced the film and Kenji Kamiyama (Moribito - Guardian of the Spirit, Eden of the East, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex) directed the feature. The film premiered in Japan in October 2012, and Funimation is releasing the film on home video in North America. Waterloo will host the screening on November 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The opening night gala for the festival will host a tribute to anime director Hayao Miyazaki (My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle). The tribute titled “Nerdgasm: Miyazaki Madness” honors Miyazaki's lifetime of films through burlesque, circus, dance, and other variety acts.

Author Brian Ruh will present a panel on the critically-acclaimed director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell, The Sky Crawlers, Patlabor 2: The Movie). The panel starts at 10:30 a.m. on November 17.
