Australia's Madman Ent: DBZ Kai's Buu Saga Should Come in 2014

posted on by Egan Loo

On Thursday, Australian anime distributor Madman Entertainment responded to a Facebook question about the Buu Saga in Dragon Ball Z Kai: "DBZ Kai buu Saga should be released sometime next year. We're just waiting on dubs etc to be finished."

Kyle Herbert and Sean Schemmel, the voice actors of Gohan and Goku respectively in Dragon Ball Z's English dub, reported in April that they were recording for the Buu Saga of Dragon Ball Z Kai.

Dragon Ball Z Kai (known as just Dragon Ball Kai in Japan) condenses the 1989-1996 Dragon Ball Z anime series to more closely follow Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga. The series features digital high-definition remastering, a re-recorded soundtrack, and select scenes updated with new effects or re-animated footage.

The Japanese cast recorded new episodes last November after the series' original run in Japan in March 2011. Funimation released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD in North America. The American channel Nicktoons completed the first run of Funimation's English release last year and removed the series from its schedule in April. The series is airing on Saban Brands and The CW's Vortexx (formerly Toonzai) programming block on Saturdays.
