Comiket 85 Draws 180,000 on Day 1, 160,000 on Day 2, 180,000 on Day 3

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

An estimated 180,000 people came to the first day of the Comic Market (Comiket) 85 event in Tokyo on Sunday. That is about 10,000 more people than Comiket 83. Last year's Winter Comiket lost attendees after refunding the entrance fees for the approximately 900 Kuroko's Basketball circles due to threats related to the franchise.

An estimated 11,800 doujin circles related to Kuroko's Basketball, Attack on Titan and others attended the event's first day.

About 160,000 attendees came on the second day, 10,000 less than the previous year. 11,700 circles offered dōjinshi for Touhou Project and other works. Events related to Kantai Collection were particularly popular. The commercial area were more subdued compared to the first day; however, company merchandise for Madoka Magica sold out by noon.

About 180,000 came on the third day, 30,000 less than on the previous winter's third day. The total across all three days was 520,000 — 30,000 less than Comiket 83.
