Maiden Japan Adds Happiness! Magical Comedy Anime

North American anime distributor Section23 Films announced its April slate on Monday, which revealed that anime licensing company Maiden Japan will release the 2006 television anime series Happiness! on subtitled DVD on April 1. The complete collection set will retail for US$49.98.
The 12-episode series revolves around the students at Mizuhosaka Academy, which keeps classes for magic users and non-magic users separate. A gas explosion on Valentine's Day forces the school to integrate classes, and mages-in-training Haruhi and Anri are transferred into a normal class with Yuma and his friends Hachisuke and Jun.
Hiroshi Hara (episode director for Baccano!, Ninja Scroll, Master Keaton) directed the series at studio Artland off of scripts by Satoru Nishizono (Welcome to the NHK, Digimon Adventure, Duel Masters). The series stars Yui Sakakibara as Haruhi Kamisaka, Mia Naruse as Anri Hiiragi, Takashi Oohara as Yuma Kohinata, Michiru Yuimoto as Jun Watarase, and Takuo Kawamura as Hachisuke Takamizo.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the series.
