Linebarrels of Iron Duo Will Start Robot Detective Manga

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
All-new story is based on Shōtarō Ishinomori's 1970s special effects series

A new manga based on Shōtarō Ishinomori's 1970s Robot Detective tokusatsu television series was announced at the Kamen Rider x Super Sentai: LIVE & SHOW 2014 event on Wednesday. Robot Keiji K (Robot Detective K) will be a brand-new story by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi, starting this fall in conjunction with Akita Shoten's Shōnen Champion family of magazines.

Toei released a short trailer for the new work.

Shimizu and Shimoguchi currently work together on the Linebarrels of Iron manga in Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine and the 22nd compiled volume shipped in Japan last August. The manga inspired a 24-episode anime in 2008 and was released in North America by FUNimation Entertainment in 2010. The duo is also serializing the Ultraman manga in Shogakukan's Heroes magazine and the third compiled volume shipped in September.
