Attack on Titan Prints 30 Million in Japan, 660,000 in N. America

posted on by Egan Loo

In a sidebar to its interview with Wit Studio President George Wada, the financial news source Nikkei reported on Wednesday that Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga has 30 million copies in print in Japan. The first volume of the anime adaptation has 100,000 copies.

The manga has been translated into eight languages and published in over 10 countries. In particular, it has been a hit in North America (660,000 copies), South Korea (530,000), and Taiwan (420,000). Even though the anime has been televised or streamed in about 30 countries and territories in Europe, North America, Asia, North Africa, Australia and elsewhere, there are plans to expand the coverage of broadcasting rights even further in the future.
