Cowboy Bebop Director Watanabe, Composer Kanno Make Zankyō no Terror Anime

Samurai Champloo's Kazuto Nakazawa designs characters at studio MAPPA

Fuji TV announced during its Noitamina Line Up 2014 event on Friday that it will premiere the original anime Zankyō no Terror (Terror of Resonance) in its Noitamina block this July. Shinichiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope) is directing the anime at the studio MAPPA. Yoko Kanno (Macross Plus, Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope) is composing the music, and Kazuto Nakazawa (Samurai Champloo) is designing the characters.

The tagline of the anime is "Pull the trigger on this world." The anime's website give this story introduction:

On a summer day …

A massive terrorist bombing suddenly struck Tokyo.

The culprits behind the act that woke up this complacent nation from its slumber, were just two boys.

Now, the culprits known as "Sphinx" begin a grandiose game that encompasses all of Japan.

The main characters are:

Nine
Nine is a calm young man with a bright mind who attends high school with Twelve. However, his true motive is wrapped in mystery.


Risa Mishima
Risa Mishima attends the high school Nine and Twelve transfer into. She is bullied in her class, and had problems at home as well. By meeting Twelve, her fate changes into something unbelievable.


Twelve
Twelve is a young man who with a child-like innocence. He treats Nine like a big brother, and goes to the same high school with him. He also works alongside him.
