Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 Gets Western Release By Idea Factory

Idea Factory International announced on Tuesday that it will release Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 (Chō Jijigen Game Neptune Re;Birth 1) PS Vita game in North America and Europe this summer. The game will include the original Japanese dialogue with subtitles and an English dub.

Idea Factory describes the story:

Gamindustri: One of many parallel universes protected by four goddesses known as CPUs. Long ago, these four CPUs engaged in a war for supremacy known as the War of the Guardians. However, this war weakened their protective hold on the world inhabited by their people, and in turn it was flooded by monsters under the influence of an individual known as Arfoire.

During the War of the Guardians, one of the CPUs—Neptune—was defeated by the others and hurled down to the world's surface from the heavens. The drop caused Neptune to lose her memories, as learned by Compa and IF, who happen upon the fallen girl. A mysterious book containing knowledge of all Gamindustri's history suddenly speaks out to Neptune, Compa, and IF. With the assistance of this sentient book, the trio embark on an extraordinary journey across four different nations on a quest to save the entire world!"

The game remakes Compile Heart's original 2010 role-playing game Chō Jigen Game Neptune (Hyperdimension Neptunia). The game will feature the "unit turn" battle system. In battle, players can move characters around the battlefield during a turn. Depending on weapons and skills, attack range will vary making a character's position important for battle success.

Nao performed the opening theme song "Miracle! Portable☆Mission." Afilia Saga performed the game's ending theme song "Mirai Botan" (Future Button).

The role-playing game shipped in Japan on October 31. NIS America released the previous Neptunia titles in North America, including Hyperdimension Neptunia, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk, and Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. NISA plans to release Kami Jigen Idol Neptune PP (under the tentative title Hyperdimension Neptunia PP) in North America and Europe this year.

Chō Jijigen Game Neptune Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation (Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2 Sisters Generation), the PlayStation Vita remake of the Chōjigen Game Neptune mk2 (Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2) PS3 game shipped in Japan earlier this month. Compile Heart is also working on the Chō Megami Shinkō Noire: Gekishin Black Heart spinoff, and Chōjigen Action Neptune U (Hyperdimensional Action Neptunia U) and Shin Jigen Game Neptune VII (New Dimensional Game Neptunia VII) games.
