Daisuki to Stream Mushi-shi Sequel & Nanana's Buried Treasure

Streaming to begin 1 month after Japanese broadcast premieres

Media distribution service and retailer Daisuki announced on Monday that it will stream the television anime series Mushishi: The Next Chapter and Nanana's Buried Treasure this season, one month after their respective Japanese broadcasts.

Mushishi: The Next Chapter (Mushishi: Zoku-Shō) reunites most of the staff from the first season, led by director and series script supervisor Hiroshi Nagahama. Cast members Yuto Nakano and Mika Doi are also reprising their roles as Ginko and the narrating voice.

Aniplex USA describes the story:

They existed long before anyone can remember. They are simple and strange in nature, not resembling any other plant or animal in this world. In ancient times, people revered these bizarre creatures and called them “Mushi.”

People once again began to believe in the existence of these "Mushi" when they began affecting their lives in inexplicable ways.

The one who connects the world of “Mushi” to the world of humans—they were called the "Mushi-shi." All life exists not to hinder others in this world.

They are simply there to live as they were meant to.

The new series premiered in Japan on April 4. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.

Nanana's Buried Treasure is based on Kazuma Ōtorino's original novel. The story centers around the treasure of Nanana, a ghost who was once a beautiful but NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) girl. A boy named Jūgo was disowned by his father and forced to transfer to a high school on the "Special Student Zone," an artificial island. With only 40,000 yen (about US$400) a month to live on, Jūgo chooses a low-rent apartment that happens to be haunted by Nanana. Jūgo and members of the school's adventure club join a "treasure hunt royale" on the island for the Nanana Collection, a treasure that possesses a mysterious power.

The series will premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina block on April 10. Kanta Kamei (Bunny Drop, Tales of Vesperia ~The First Strike~, Oreshura) will direct the series, and Hideyuki Kurata (Read or Die, Samurai Flamenco, Oreimo) will handle the series composition. Additionally, Tetsuya Kawakami (chief animation director and sub-character design for Sword Art Online) will adapt Akaringo's novel illustrations for animation, and Keigo Hoashi (Dusk maiden of Amnesia) and monaca (Star Driver, Wagnaria!!, Aikatsu!) will handle the music. Voice actress unit Sphere will perform the ending theme "Kasukana Hisokana Tashikana Mirai." A-1 Pictures will animate the series.

Aniplex of America also announced that Daisuki will simulcast Mekakucity Actors and The irregular at magic high school television anime.
