Soko o Nantoka Shōjo Lawyer Manga Gets 2nd Live-Action Show

Yuika Motokariya stars as caberet girl who becomes a lawyer

A second live-action television adaptation of Mikoto Asou's Soko o Nantoka shōjo lawyer manga has been green-lit. Soko o Nantoka 2 will run for eight episodes on the public broadcaster NHK's satelite and cable channel BS Premium, and it will premiere on August 3 at 10:00 p.m.

Yuika Motokariya (Wild 7, We Were There) reprises her role of' Rakuko "Rakko" Kaise, a former caberet girl who is now a rookie lawyer. Kaise was raised in a poor family, so she decides to become a lawyer to earn money.

Other returning cast members include Enosuke Ichikawa as Hiroaki Shōji, Megumi, Waka Inoue, and Kōhei Ōtomo. Yoshio Inoue will play a character created for the show. Gōta Watabe also stars. Masako Imai and Rie Yokota are writing the scripts, and Mikio Endō is scoring the music.

Asou launched the original manga in Hakusensha's Melody magazine in 2007, and Hakusensha published the eighth compiled book volume last May. The first live-action series premiered in October 2012.
