Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yattemita's 2nd Promo Previews Opening

Anime of 4-panel manga about aspiring local idols to premiere on July 3

The official website for the television anime of Kōtarō Kosugi's Futsū no Joshikōsei ga Locodol Yattemita (Normal High School Girls Tried Being Local Idols) four-panel comedy manga began streaming its second promotional video on Friday. The video features the opening theme song "Mirai Fanfare" (Future Fanfare) by the two main voice actresses (as the group Nagarekawa Girls), and it outlines the story.

In the story, high school girl Nanako became her town's local idol at the request of her uncle. She and her upperclassman Yukari, a girl who seems perfect but ends up being airheaded, both become idols of their provincial area. They get interviewed (by the town's shopping center), go on television (low-budget cable), and hold concerts (on the roof of the department store). The girls' salaries come from the town's taxes.

Miku Itō (THE IDOLM@STER MOVIE: Kagayaki no Mukōgawa e!, Sekai de Ichiban Tsuyoku Naritai!) stars as high school girl-turned-idol Nanako Usami.

Sachika Misawa (Accel World, Campione!, Fantasista Doll) stars as the upperclassman-turned-idol Yukari Kohinata.

Asami Shimoda (Infinite Stratos 2, The IDOLM@STER) will also star as Saori Nishifukai, Inori Minase (Love Lab, Super Seisyun Brothers) will star as Mirai Nazukari, and Maya Yoshioka (Girls und Panzer, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's) will star as Yui Mikazuki.

Munenori Nawa (Kiss×sis , NAKAIMO - My Little Sister Is Among Them!) is directing the series at the anime studio feel (Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!, Kiss×sis, D.C. II: Da Capo II). Yuniko Ayana (Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl, Hori-san to Miyamura-kun) is in charge of the series scripts with Yumi Shimizu designing the characters. Nagarekawa Girls is also singing the ending theme song "Mirai Shōjo-tachi" (Future Girls). (The theme songs' CD single will go on sale on July 30.)

Kosugi began serializing the manga in the magazine in 2011. Ichijinsha published the second compiled volume in February.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo's TBS station on July 3.
