Ghibli Screenings Around U.K. in August

Screenings in Newcastle (outdoors), Manchester, Glasgow and London

There will be several screenings of Studio Ghibli films around the U.K. in August.

Monument Movies, the free outdoor screenings in Newcastle at Grey's Monument, will include a screening of Howl's Moving Castle (pictured) on Tuesday August 12 at 12 noon.

A season of the studio films begins today (Friday August 1) at the Cornerhouse cinemas in Manchester (directions) including the following films:

Spirited Away showing subtitled on August 1 (6 p.m.) and dubbed on Saturday August 23 (1.10 p.m.).

Princess Mononoke showing subbed on August 7 and 19. Both screenings are at 5.50 p.m.

Howl's Moving Castle showing subbed on August 12 and 28. Both screenings are at 6 p.m.

Porco Rosso showing subbed on August 14 (6.20 p.m.) and dubbed on August 30 (3.50 p.m.).

Glasgow Film Theatre (directions) is running a season of 'Miyazaki Classicson Saturdays,' all subtitled.

August 9: Princess Mononoke (2.30 p.m.)

August 16: Howl's Moving Castle (1.30 p.m.)

August 23: Spirited Away (1.45 p.m.)

London's Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square will also continue its Sunday Ghibli screenings, all subtitled:

August 3: Ponyo (6.30 p.m.)

August 10: Arrietty (6.45 p.m.)

August 17: Tales from Earthsea (6.30 p.m.)

August 24: The Cat Returns (6.30 p.m.)

The Prince Charles cinema additionally has a screening of a non-Ghibli film, Katsuhiro Ōtomo's Akira, tonight (August 1) at 9 p.m.
