4th character visual revealed as cast & director offer comments

A new visual for the Kamisama Kiss (Kamisama Hajimemashita) stage musical debuted on Wednesday. It shows the character of Nanami Momozono, played by actor Saki Terashima.

Each actor also made some comments in a media event on Wednesday. Terashima said, "It's been eight years since I was last part of a stage play, but being gathered together like this in costume, it really hit me. I've read the manga, and I think Nanami is a really forward-looking, determined girl. It's a high school girl role, so I need to play her with energy."

Ren Yagami said, "I thought this while reading the manga, but Tomoe is tsundere. I was thinking if I even had the right face for tsundere, so I really want to act it out." He also said, "The contract as a familiar needs a kiss. I haven't done a kiss scene before, so look forward to finding out whether or not there is one in this play."

Keisuke Minami said, "Kurama is visual-kei, so it's a new mental state for me. I put on my eyeliner thick today and fired myself up. I'm only worried the eyeliner's going to get thicker starting today." He also said, "I'd like to start on the Kamisama Kiss only we can do, without messing up the worldview of the manga."

Shota Takasaki said, "I'd like to think this hair color doesn't suit just anyone. I've played plenty of roles with sotohane (hair that flows outward from the head at the tips) hair styles. But when I saw the finished photos, I thought, 'This is it.' The balance of us four lined up together is fantastic. The ears are just about a fit for Ren Yagami too."

The writer and director, Hata Takehiko, also commented, "We've got lots of fans of the original manga here along with the cast, so I will give my all to answer those expectations. We won't go easy on ourselves in rehearsals, so that people will say that Kamisama Kiss is a league apart, or it's on a different level."

Tomoe, Kurama, and Mizuki's visuals debuted earlier this month:

The cast includes:

The musical will run from March 21 to March 29, 2015 at the Tokyo Geijutsu Gekijō Playhouse. Takehiko Hata (Unfair television series) is writing and directing.

The stage musical adapts Julietta Suzuki's manga of the same name, which already inspired two television anime series. The first season aired in October 2012, and Funimation began streaming the first season that month as well. The second season premiered this month, and Funimation is streaming the new season as well.
