Toukiden: Kiwami Game's 'Infinite Mission' Trailer Streamed

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Game heads to PS4, PS Vita on March 31

Koei Tecmo American began streaming its Toukiden: Kiwami game's "Infinite Mission" Trailer on Sunday. The new game mode will let players battle an infinite number of Oni.

Koei Tecmo America will release the game on March 31 for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita. The hunting action game will be available in packaged and digital versions. The company notes that the game is twice the size of the original Toukiden: The Age of Demons game for PS Vita, and promises "new weapons, newly discovered Oni, new Mitama (over 100 new Mitama), new Slayers, new moves, and twice as many stages." Europe will receive the game on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on March 27.

The game's three new characters are the warriors Reki, Sōma, and Horō. The new weapons include a spiked club, gun, and naginata. The new "Extreme Destroyer" ability lets players hit multiple areas at the same time. Players will be able to transfer saved game data from Toukiden: The Age of Demons.

The game shipped for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Portable in Japan on August 28. The regular PlayStation Vita version retails at 5,800 yen (about US$57), while the downloadable version costs 5,143 yen (US$51). The regular PlayStation Portable version costs 4,800 yen (US$47), and the downloadable edition available for 4,286 yen (US$42). The Treasure Box edition bundled a Tenko plush, art book, soundtrack CD, and a download code for six character costumes. The set retailed at 11,800 yen (US$116) for the PlayStation Vita and 10,800 yen (US$106) for the PlayStation Portable. The game's first copies also included a download code for Sōma and Reki costumes.

The original game is set several years after a temporal cataclysm unleashed demons into the human world. Players control a demon hunter charged with ridding the world of the new menace. The studio Omega-Force, which developed the Musou (Warriors) franchise, developed the title, and Hidari (Fractale, Natsu-iro Kiseki, Vividred Operation) designed the characters for the game.

The original game shipped in Japan in June 2013, followed by releases in North America and Europe in February 2014. Urasuke Ayano also launched the digital prequel manga Toukiden Woniuchi in Sony's Reader Store in 2013.
