Manga slated for later this year

Yen Press announced on Sunday that it has licensed the Horimiya, Rose Guns Days Season One, and Final Fantasy Type-0 Side Story: The Ice Reaper manga.

The first volume of Daisuke Hagiwara's Horimiya is slated for October.

Hagiwara launched the manga in Monthly G Fantasy in 2011 as a spinoff to HERO's Hori-san to Miyamura-kun four-panel school comedy manga. The original manga has inspired three OVA adaptations.

In the story, Hori is the most popular and gorgeous girl at school, while Miyamura is an introverted, eyeglasses-wearing boy. However, both find out that their appearances at school are not as they seem, as it turns out that Hori is a laid-back family girl, and Miyamura is a handsome young man covered in piercings and tattoos.

Yen Press will ship the first volume of Rose Gun Days Season One this fall.

Sōichirō's Rose Guns Days Season One adapts the Rose Guns Days game by Ryukishi07 (Higurashi: When They Cry, Umineko When They Cry). The series ended last year, and Square Enix shipped the fourth and final volume in April. The game has also inspired a number of other sequel and spinoff manga.

The original game's story takes place in Japan after World War II. Devastated in the aftermath of defeat, the Japanese government complies with the Allies' reconstruction plan. Japan begins to recover from the loss after a few years, but America and China intricately divide control of the nation on a municipal level. The many Chinese and American immigrants make Japanese people the minority in their own land.

A girl named Rose Haibara works at the club Primavera and lends money to Japanese people so that they can rebuild their lives. Some people take advantage of that generosity. Meanwhile, Leo Shishigami is best known for his reputation among women. Everything begins to change when that legendary man meets Rose in the spring of 1947.

The first volume of Final Fantasy Type-0 Side Story: The Ice Reaper (Final Fantasy Type-0 Gaiden: Hyōken no Shinigami) is slated to ship this July.

Takatoshi Shiozawa (Full Moon) launched the manga with editorial supervision by Tetsuya Nomura in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in 2011. The series ended in December 2013 and Square Enix shipped the fifth compiled volume in April.

The manga adapts Square Enix's Final Fantasy Type-0 game, which launched for PlayStation Portable in Japan in 2012. The remastered Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will ship later this month in North America, Europe, and Japan.
