Children of the Sea's Igarashi to Start Designs Manga in April

The May issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine is announcing on Wednesday that manga creator Daisuke Igarashi will start a new series titled Designs in the following issue on April 25. The 60-page first chapter will include color pages.
The manga's tagline reads "This life, whose decision was it?" The magazine teases the story:
Those that stride across the land. Those that dance across the skies. Those that are ensconced in water. What "entity" has been designed as the best form of life? The disturbing situation unfolding deep in the forest will shock the natural world and humanity!!
Viz Media published Igarashi's 2007 manga series Children of the Sea in its online Ikki magazine. Igarashi ended this manga in 2011. The manga earned nominations and awards of excellence from the 38th Japan Cartoonist Awards, the American Library Association's Young Adult Library Services Association, the School Library Journal, and the 13th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards.
Ai Hashimoto (live-action I'll Give It My All... Tomorrow, Another films) starred in the live-action adaptations of Igarashi's Little Forest manga. The first film opened in Japan on August 30.
