Frozen, Ping Pong, Tiger & Bunny Win at Tokyo Anime Award Festival

Ghibli's Isao Takahata & Kazuo Oga, Daisuke Ono, Kōki Uchiyama, Hiroyuki Sawano, Song of the Sea also win

The winners of this year's Tokyo Anime Award Festival received their honors on Sunday.

To be eligible, the works had to have been screened in theaters or broadcast on television in Japan between November 1, 2013 and October 31, 2014. The nominees were selected by 100 judges, including anime producers and members of The Association of Japanese Animations.

The titles are all being screened during the Tokyo Anime Award Festival from March 19 to March 23. Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki's The Wind Rises won the film award at last year's festival and Attack on Titan won the television award.

The awards ceremony was held on March 22 at the TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi branch. The Tokyo Anime Award Festival is being held in Tokyo, Japan from March 19 to 23 at the same theater.
