Live-Action MOZU Film's Manila On-Location Photos Shown

Action movie opens in Japan on November 11

The official Twitter account of the MOZU live-action film revealed photos of the film's on-location shooting in Manila on Tuesday.

The official Twitter account noted that it was impossible to film large-scale action scenes in Japan, so the crew chose to film in Manila. The crew began filming on April, and wrapped up on Tuesday.

Some of the locations shown in the on-location photos include the rear of the Manila Central Post Office on Riverside Drive and the Quiapo area.

The film is based on the live-action MOZU drama series, which aired for two seasons on the TBS and WOWOW channels last year. In the original series, a bomb explodes in the business district of Ginza. Naotake Kuraki, an investigator for the Metropolitan Police's public safety bureau, loses his wife in the attack. He cooperates with two other investigators, Ryōta Ōsugi and Miki Akeboshi, to unravel the mystery of the terrorist attack.

The movie will star Hidetoshi Nishijima, Yōko Maki, Teruyuki Kagawa, Hiroki Hasegawa, Fumiyo Kohinata, Sōsuke Ikematsu, Atsushi Itō, Yūsuke Iseya, Beat Takeshi, and Tōri Matsuzaka. Eiichirō Hasumi (live-action Wild 7) is directing the film with scripts by Kōsuke Nishi. Yūgo Kanno will compose the music.

The film will open in Japan on November 11.
