Nanairo Kakumei Short Anime's 1st Episode Streamed Before TV Debut

The official YouTube channel for Shueisha's Ribon shōjo magazine began streaming the first episode on Monday for the anime adaptation of Mizuka Yuzuhara's Nanairo Kakumei (Seven-Colored Revolution) manga.

In the short, Nana explains how she can't turn her popular friend Yuyu down, whether it be about wearing the same hairstyle even in middle school or what to do after school. When she loses her bear mascot that matches the ones her friends have, Shioka, a boy who sits next to her in class, finds it and gives it back to her. Nana says it's important to her because it's something to commemorate her friendship with her friends, but Shioka responds that that's boring.

The YouTube channel will stream each new episode before it airs on TV.

The three-episode anime will air on October 6, 13, and 20, as segments within the children's television program Oha-Suta ("Good Morning Studio") on TV Tokyo. The cast consists of Reina Ueda as Nana, Shizuka Ishigami as Yuyu, and Daiki Yamashita as Shioka.

The "real friendship story" centers around Nana, who constantly finds herself unable to refuse the wishes of her childhood friend Yuyu—such as styling her hair the same or carrying the same accessories—even if she hates it. She decides she wants to change her attitude and won't follow everything Yuyu says anymore.

Yuzuhara launched the manga in Ribon in August 2014. Shueisha published the manga's third compiled book volume on September 25.
