Includes Animate store, Cool Japan Mall, 120 new stores by 2017

In an interview with the Anime Pilipinas website, HalloHallo Inc. COO Maxim Beatty revealed the company's plans for its previously announced Cool Japan Mall.

Beatty revealed that HalloHallo Inc. is planning to open the mall in 2017. The mall will contain an Animate store, which it will open in collaboration with illustration and social media website pixiv. The Japanese Manga Alliance — the company that Shueisha, Animate, Kodansha, Kadokawa, and Shogakukan established as a joint venture — is also opening an Animate branch in Bangkok, Thailand in 2016.

HalloHallo Inc. is building the mall in cooperation with the Cool Japan Fund.

The company also plans to open 120 Cool Japan Stores by March 2017. The stores will serve as an outlet for Japanese small and medium enterprises, including food, electronic goods, cosmetics, traditional handicrafts, and interior goods. HalloHallo Inc. has already established a store in Alabang, and plans to open the next store in Trinoma in Quezon City. The company also plans to open a chain of authentic Japanese restaurants called Cool Japan Restaurant.

The Cool Japan Mall, Cool Japan Store, and Cool Japan Restaurant will form the three phases of HalloHallo Inc.'s Cool Japan project in the Philippines.

HalloHallo Inc. hosted the Cool Japan Festival on November 7 and 8, where idol group AKB48's Team 8 sub-unit performed.
