Death Note, Claymore artists cite members' physical condition as reason

Japanese rock band Nightmare announced on their official website on Saturday that they will go on a temporary hiatus starting before the end of the year. The announcement said that they arrived at the decision to go on hiatus after considering their members' physical condition in recent years as they head toward their 20th anniversary. The band formed in 2000.

The announcement added that while the band itself will be on hiatus, the individual members will still continue their solo and support activities. Nightmare plan to announce the exact hiatus start date as well as a resumption date soon.

The band consists of Yomi (vocals), Sakito (guitar), Hitsugi (guitar), Ni~ya (bass), and RUKA (drums). They released their latest album — a "best of" album titled best tracks 2000-2005 [ćlowns] — on March 23.

The band performed the first opening and ending theme songs for the Death Note television anime series and the opening and ending theme songs for the Mōryō no Hako television anime series. Additionally, they performed opening theme songs for Claymore and Neuro - Supernatural Detective, and the second ending theme song for Croquette!.
