Steve N' Steven's Craftar Studio Produces 2 New Anime Short Series

Steve N' Steven's in-house animation studio Craftar is producing two new animated shorts. The two shorts titled Uchū Neko Mardock no Bōken (The Adventures of Mardock "The Space Cat") and Pâtisserie no Monster (Pâtisserie Monster) will each have four episodes that will stream on YKK AP's official YouTube channel. YKK AP began streaming the first episode of Uchū Neko Mardock no Bōken on Tuesday.
The first episode features the space-traveling cat Mardock and his mouse sidekick Chewy stopping on a star full of sweets. They encounter a distressed queen bee who complains that she wants to leave the star because she is sick of the sweets that her servants bring her every day. Mardock solves her dilemma by introducing her to bitter coffee that she can consume with the sweets.
Uchū Neko Mardock no Bōken follows the story of a cat named Mardock and his mouse friend Chewy as they daydream of traveling through space and solving the problems of star-dwellers they meet along the way. Keiji Fujiwara (Utawarerumono: The False Faces' Haku) is voicing Mardock while Daiki Yamashita (Yowamushi Pedal's Sakamichi Onoda) is voicing Chewy. Azumi Asakura, Yumi Uchiyama, Yūko Kaida, Kaori Mizuhashi, and Yuichiro Umehara will provide guest roles.
Daiki Inaba is directing the anime and writing the screenplay. Chiharu Sakazaki designed the characters, and Asura Film is in charge of animation.
Pâtisserie no Monster will follow the everyday life of Powan, a monster who owns a pastry shop in Paris. The stop-motion anime is based on a picture book written by Genki Kawamura and illustrated by Ryō Sakamoto. Yōsuke Ōmomo will direct the anime, and Dwarf is in charge of animation.
Craftar previously collaborated on an animated short adaptation of Genki Kawamura and Yūki Mashiko's picture book Moom.
